Nuna

Mary Ada Driscoll Cobb McKinney - affectionately known as “Momma” or “Nuna” depending on the generation - was a pillar of strength and love, giving her best and making sacrifices despite facing challenges. Like everyone, she had imperfections, but her resilience and resourcefulness shone through. She faced life's difficulties with grace, always striving to provide the best for her family.

Nuna made profound sacrifices, putting her own needs aside to ensure her children's and grand children’s well-being. She worked long hours, took on multiple roles, and endured personal hardships to create a better future for her family. She overcame financial, social, and emotional challenges with courage and tenacity, setting a powerful example of inner strength.

Nuna’s legacy is one of love and resilience. Her sacrifices and efforts inspire future generations to carry forward her strength and determination.

The Cobb Branch

  • George Augustus Cobb

    In loving memory of George Augustus Cobb, born on December 1, 1940, and passed away on August 7, 1950. Though his time with us was short, George's memory lives on in the hearts of his family. His spirit continues to remind us of the preciousness of life. Forever remembered and cherished.

  • Richard James Cobb

    Richard James Cobb, born on November 17, 1942, is the eldest surviving son of Mary Ada. He is married to Glenda (Bethune) Cobb and resides in Covington, GA. Richard has a deep love for music, which has been a significant part of his life.

  • Donna Ellene Cobb-Taylor

    Donna Ellene Cobb-Taylor, the eldest daughter of Mary Ada, was born on November 28, 1944. Known for her warmth, wisdom, and dedication to family, Donna has played a pivotal role in preserving and sharing the rich history of the family’s lineage.

  • Linda Lee Davis

    Linda Lee Cobb Brown Davis, the second daughter of Mary Ada, was born on November 17, 1947. Known for her infectious laughter and her warm and generous spirit, Linda had a unique ability to make others feel cherished and loved. Though she passed away on July 9, 2003, Linda's legacy continues to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

The McKinney Branch

  • Karen Alicia Woods

    Karen Alicia McBride/Gill McKinney Woods, Mary Ada’s fifth child and third daughter, was born on October 24, 1951 and resides in Pittsburgh, PA. An ardent animal lover, Karen's compassion extends to both her furry friends and love ones around her. Known as everyone's biggest cheerleader, she brings encouragement and positivity to the generations.

  • Minnie Diane Woods

    Minnie Diane McKinney Woods (Gordon), born on December 14, 1954, is the youngest daughter of Mary Ada. She resides in Chesapeake, VA, and is considered a confidant by many. Diane is known in the family for her style, love of shoes, and warm hospitality.

  • Timothy Maurice McKinney

    Timothy Maurice McKinney, born December 28, 1955, is the youngest child of Mary Ada. Tim and his wife Jennifer (Westphal) McKinney reside in Pinehurst, NC. Tim may sometimes have a gruff exterior but is the "gentle giant" and lovable grouch of the family, bringing a unique blend of humor and kindness to those around him.
